My Go-To Hair Routine.

Hey All,
I get questions all the time what my typical hair routine is, and I just wanted to share a few of my hidden secrets.
1. First thing I ONLY wash my hair about 2-3 times a week! I already know you ALL are sitting there and are like that makes no sense, don't you work out a lot. Wellll.. it takes about a month or so to train your hair but once you stop washing you hair every day, you will notice that it won't get as oily/ greasy so quickly. ALSO, the days that I go to classes (hot yoga/ Barrys bootcamp) I have it pre planned that those are the days that I am going to wash my hair.
2. Do not touch your hair. Ok I understand that this is obviously kinda hard, but your hands are EXTREMELY dirty and they have so many oils on them so the more you are putting your hands in your hair the sooner you are going to have to wash your hair.
3. The first day I use almost no product! The only products I typically use is the Moroccanoil Volume Mousse, dry shampoo, and the It's A 10 Miracle Spray (I put this in when my hair is wet - keeps your hair from breakage, helps repair, and is a heat protecter). I have noticed that hair spray will leave my hair super greasy and oily so I just stay away from using it all together. Obviously if you have an event to go to, there is exceptions, but for every day use I have trained my hair to go without.
4. As for dry shampoo I use two different kinds. Obviously the first day I do need to use any, but for the second day I use the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo (this is my go to dry shampoo and is still my all time favorite). However, after a light workout, run, or when my hair is on the third or fourth day and I need a stronger dry shampoo I use the Dry Bar Dry Shampoo Foam (this mousse is amazing for after workouts, because it absorbs all the sweat/ dirt in your hair and gives your hair almost a quick wash without actually washing it).
Side Note: Obviously as I said before when I do high-intesnsity workouts like hot yoga or Barrys Bootcamp I have no option but to wash my hair because I have sweat so much, however, when I do light workouts (mile jog, weights, ab circuit, squats, jump rope, etc.) I typically just throw some of the Dry Bar Dry Shampoo Foam in my hair.
How To Use it:
Put a golf ball size of the foam in the palm of your hand
Massage it all over your hairline (including behind your ears & underneath) & scalp
FYI: Obviously when you do light workout your hair still gets a small amount of sweat through your scalp, so the reason I use the foam is because it aborsb the sweat and leaves your hair smelling fresh as ever!
BTW: After the foam is fully dissolved into your scalp, I typically will lightly blow dry my scalp to get rid of any of the sweat/wetness, and continue to massage my scalp to rub in any last bit of dry shampoo.
Overall, I know these are pretty basics steps, but I swear to you that they work. As im sure you know I am EXTREMELY lazy, so I try go as many days as I can with my hair to prevent having to wash it or blow dry it (blow drying your hair is the WORST). Bottom line I know the period of trying to train your hair to stay dirty for a few days sucks (trying using a hat, put your hair in a messy bun or use a lot for dry shampoo), but once you get to the point when you are only having to wash your hair every 3-4 days you will be so happy (not only are you going to be saving yourself time, but washing your hair everyday is actually bad for you because you are drying out your hair).
Ps. If you need any blow dryer, curling iron, straightener, brush, hair elastic , or headband (for working out) recommendations please don't hesitate to reach out and ask!
